Recipe for a facial tonic – inspired by Larendogra – the legendary water of the Queen of Hungary.
Ingredients

• 1 tablespoon dried rosemary – known for its toning and antioxidant properties.
• 1 tablespoon of dried rose petals – has a toning and moisturizing effect.
• 1 tablespoon of dried lavender flowers – relaxes and soothes irritations.
• 1 teaspoon of dried chamomile – has soothing properties.
• 1 teaspoon of vegetable glycerin – moisturizes and smoothes the skin.
• 1/2 cup distilled water
• 2 drops of rose essential oil (optional) – adds a luxurious scent and enhances the toning effect

Preparation

• In a pot, bring 1/2 cup distilled water to a boil. Add rosemary, rose petals, lavender flowers, and chamomile. Reduce heat and simmer for 10 minutes.
• Once brewed, strain the mixture through a strainer or cheesecloth to remove the herbs. Allow the elixir to cool to room temperature.
• Add a teaspoon of vegetable glycerin to the cooled elixir and mix well.
• If using essential oil, add 2 drops to the mixture and mix again.
• Store the elixir in an airtight, dark container in the refrigerator. Best used within two weeks.

Application

• As a facial toner: After cleansing, soak a cotton pad in the elixir and gently wipe your face, avoiding the eye area. Allow your skin to absorb the toner before applying your moisturizer.
• As a moisturizing mask: Apply to face (preferably soaked in tonic gauze or a soft towel) for 10-15 minutes, then rinse with lukewarm water. Skin will be refreshed and radiant.
